New upcoming OpenShot library to deliver multi-threaded editor, curve animations, sub-pixel positioning and enhanced stability
OpenShot is an open-source powerful video editor, allowing users to edit videos, while utilizing video and audio effects, 3D animations, image sequences, transitions, multiple tracks, transcode capabilities, upload-to support, etc.
Nevertheless, it seems that, along with a decent and effective set of features, OpenShot comes with crashes and various issues, as seen and reported by various users.
The OpenShot developers have just published an interesting news about an upcoming "New OpenShot Library", "Over the years, many improvements have been made to OpenShot,…, however, none quite so dramatic or important as the new video editing library I am currently developing".
A definitely exciting aspect of the soon-to-be-released new library is its design approach, "this library is built from the ground up to excel where OpenShot has struggled the most", meaning, the new library is to center stability, performance (multiple cores), powerful animations and keyframes, audio, removal of faulty transitions and compositing artifacts, essentially, a bold clear-yet-serious development work.
"My work on the OpenShot Library is nearing completion", presently, the mentioned library features multi-threaded and cross-platform approach, curve-based animations and time shifting, sub-pixel animations and positioning, powerful image compositing and editing, audio waveform visualization, etc, bundle of features powered by FFmpeg and (written in) C++ (with Python bindings).
